Today, Mayor Graham had the opportunity to meet with Claudia and discuss the future of 4-H in our community. Tuckerman has not had an active local 4-H chapter in quite some time, and we are excited about the possibility of partnering together to bring this valuable program back to our youth.
4-H provides students in grades K-12 with opportunities to develop leadership skills, earn scholarships, obtain certifications, and participate in hands-on learning experiences that prepare them for future success. While agriculture remains at the heart of 4-H, the program also offers education in science, technology, healthy living, citizenship, and much more.
Agriculture is deeply rooted in the history and identity of our community. Investing in programs like 4-H helps ensure those roots continue to grow and thrive for generations to come.
Thank you, Claudia, for taking the time to meet with Mayor Graham and for considering the City of Tuckerman in your plans for expanding 4-H opportunities throughout our area. We look forward to working together to create meaningful opportunities for our young people!

The City of Tuckerman would like to share a valuable resource that may help homeowners make needed repairs and improvements.

Sewer backups can happen unexpectedly due to equipment failures, power outages, blockages, or other issues within the municipal sewer system. While the City is actively working to improve our aging infrastructure, homeowners can take an important step to help protect their property.
A backwater valve is installed on your home's sewer line and helps prevent sewage from backing up into your home if the city's sewer system becomes overloaded or experiences a mechanical failure.
While not currently required, we encourage residents to speak with a licensed plumber about whether a backwater valve is a good option for their home. It can be a worthwhile investment that may help prevent costly damage and provide added peace of mind.
The City of Tuckerman remains committed to improving our sewer system through maintenance and by pursuing grant funding for much-needed infrastructure upgrades. Working together, we can help protect both our homes and our community.

We appreciate the time spent learning about our community and look forward to continuing conversations that support growth, collaboration, and a strong future for our residents.

During the survey, several hydrants were identified as needing repairs due to leaking valves and other maintenance issues. Those repairs will be scheduled and completed in the near future.
As a result of this project, our Fire Department and City employees now have access to an interactive satellite map that allows them to quickly locate every fire hydrant and view its status with the click of a button. This technology will improve efficiency and help reduce response times during emergency calls.
We're committed to investing in the infrastructure and tools that help keep Tuckerman safe.

Thank you to everyone who donated and supported this project. Your generosity made it possible to replace the outdated, inadequate facility we previously relied on with a clean, safe kennel that will provide a comfortable place for stray animals while they are in our care.
Congratulations, Tuckerman! This is what patience, planning, and a community working together can accomplish.
